"With your vote, I'll run the bull Out of Frankfort"

Ethics

Our elected officials are supposed to represent the interests and needs of the people of Kentucky. Instead, many of them put themselves first by focusing more on getting themselves re-elected. They cater more to special interests and party politics. The needs of the people are overlooked or get lost in the shuffle. This is unethical to me. I will put the people first in mind with everything that I do as Governor. I also will push for the House and Senate to pass a binding resolution that requires that an economic impact statement be prepared for each bill that is introduced for a vote on the floor. This statement will address how the proposed bill will affect low-income households and small businesses.

I believe that all of government should be open to the people of Kentucky. I want to see an end to closed-door meetings in state government. I will work to see that all meetings held at the Capitol, or on state property, will be open to the public. All meetings held in the Governor's office in my Administration will be open to the Associated Press and other media.
